Elham Palestine seeks initiatives and practices that have made a significant difference in the school learning environment in one or more of the following four areas of focus and their corresponding domains:
Teaching learning methods
Domains:
• Nurturing students curiosity, creativity, discovery, and the full range of thinking and reasoning skills
• Making the learning process more engaging, more stimulating, more meaningful and more connected with real life
• Nurturing students' capacity to learn and their joy in learning
• Making the classroom learning environment more respectful of the unique makeup of every child and his particular learning needs and his unique form of self expression
General school climate
Domains:
• Making the school learning environment safer and more secure and liberating it from all forms of physical, social or psychological violence.
• Building healthy and satisfying relationships within the school community including students, teachers, parents and principles.
• Contributing to making the physical and psychosocial environment of the school more inclusive of students with special needs.
• Nurturing students' as responsible citizens and their democratic practices.
• Fostering the appreciation for diversity and the respect for the opinion of the other.
• Empowering students and fostering their artistic, athletic, cultural and social talents.
Psychosocial health
Domains:
• Fostering students' psychological and social health and strengthening their psychological immunity and their capacity to deal with the different life challenges facing them, their families or communities.
• Raising students health awareness and helping them acquire healthy habits and behavior patterns in all aspects of their life.
• Dealing with any health disorders including smoking, alcohol and drug abuse,...etc
• Stimulating and facilitating students meaningful engagement in their school environment, in their community and in the larger society as "young citizens".
• Fostering initiative, entrepreneurship and leadership amongst all students and nurturing in them the joy in caring and giving.
• Encouraging peer to peer mutual learning.
Media and ICT
Domains:
• Helping students realize the enormous potential, challenges and risks offered by the ICT and media learning environment.
• Helping students acquire healthy and sound habits and behavior patterns in dealing with ICTs and media.
• Encouraging students to create their own media and communication tools that meet their own needs.
